DCS JV Girls, Boys, And Varsity Girls Hope For Promising Season This Year

Bo Stone will be coaching the JV Dillon Christian School girls this season as they hope to challenge for a region title.
The team lost four players from last year’s team with one of the girls was a regular in our rotation.
The coaching staff will be assisted by Sandra Mercer and Tim Page
“We are a veteran team with returning talent at each position.  I expect us to challenge for our regional title,” Stone said .
“Sarah Grace Stone and Lizzie Outlar return at guard, and we have some promising young talent returning at guard in August Smith and Sarah Martin.  Anna Thompson returns at wing. Anna Brown, Sara Freeman and Anna Mercer return in the post for us,”
“The girls have worked hard in the off season to get ready for his year.  Many of these girls received significant playing time last year and are prepared to lead this season,”
On the JV boys side, they lost four starters from last year’s team that finished fourth in our region. They also lost one of our first men off of the bench who was counted on to really help this team.
Walt Bailey and Kyle Floyd return from last year’s team with lots of experience. Ian Bethea moves up from B team and will assume our lead guard responsibilities. Caleb Boykin and Jacob DuBose also move up from B team and will be expected to help in the post.
“We need to really develop young talent at shooting guard opposite of Kyle Floyd, and we must find another post player to complement Walt Bailey,” Stone said
“Although we are young we have some talent on this team.  As the season progresses and the boys gel we should be very competitive.”
“This is a great group of young men to work with and I am excited to watch them grow this year,” Stone said
This is Stone’s second year working with the DCS varsity girls. They lost four seniors, three of whom were starters.
“We have Audrey Polverari moving up from JV who will provide us with an athletic presence in the post.  Catie Eggert will be a backup at either wing spot, and will be a strong defender for us this year,” said Stone.
“Samantha Carpenter returns for us at guard, and she has really improved her game and leadership in the off season.  She should be one of the better players in our region this year,” said Stone.
“This group of girls realize they are setting the foundation for the future of our program, and they are working hard at improving each day.”
