Sunday, November 1, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church held the annual homecoming service. After the prelude, the Children’s Choir blessed the congregation with two songs, “I Can Sing, I Can Praise” and God’s Not Dead.” Pastor Bert Petty welcomed everyone, made the announcements and offered the opening prayer.
The fellowship hymn for the congregation was “To God Be the Glory.” This was followed by a special from the Adult Choir. The offertory hymn was “Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine” followed by prayer and the receiving of tithes and offerings.
The sermon was delivered by former pastor, Dr. Joel R. Burke, who served from 1999 through 2009.
The invitational hymn was “The Savior Is Waiting.” After the Benediction and Postlude, everyone enjoyed fellowship and a delicious meal. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church is located at 1625 Hwy 57 South, Dillon.
