Lady Gators Advance in Playoffs

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators earned a 16-0 shut out win over Scott’s Branch on Thursday night in the first round of the Class A, District V softball playoffs and defeated Bamberg-Ehrhardt 4-1 on Saturday to advance to the District V championship game on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Lady Gators hosted Scott’s Branch, picking up six runs in the bottom of the first, two in the second, and eight in the third to seal the win.
Ally Spivey pitched five innings for a no-hitter, giving up just four walks and striking out 12 batters. Toni Lawson took the loss for the Eagles.

At bat, Logan Spivey went 4-for-4 with three RBI and Madison Greene went 3-for-3 with three RBI.

On Saturday, Lake View traveled to face Region 5-A champ Bamberg-Ehrhardt, earning a 4-1 win over the Red Raiders. The Gators picked up two runs in the top of the first, one in the second, and one in the fifth to seal the win.

Marissa Tyndall pitched a complete game for the Gators, giving up just three hits and one walk and striking out 11. Mallory Chavis took the loss, pitching a complete game for five hits, four runs, two earned runs, three walks, one hit by pitch, and three outs.

Tyndall homered at bat for the Lady Gators, getting two hits with two RBI, and Logan Spivey, Ally Spivey, and Ashley Rogers made up the other three hits for Lake View. Bamberg-Ehrhardt had three hits and two errors in the effort.

Lake View improved to 16-6 overall and will host the District V championship game on Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s elimination game.
