Lake View Shuts Out Green Sea 6-0

Lake View’s Wild Gators shut out Green Sea Floyds 6-0 on Tuesday night in Green Sea.

Lake View scored one run each in the first, third, and fifth innings before capping the win with three runs in the seventh. Carson Rogers reached on a walk in the first inning, advanced on grounders and scored on a single from Justin Elliott. In the third, Josh Price singled, advanced on a wild pitch and a single, and scored on the next play. Price followed up with a solo home run in the fifth inning, and hit another homer in the seventh to score Carson Rogers, who reached on a fielder’s choice, and Weston Rogers, who drew a walk.

Carson Rogers got the win on the mound, going seven innings and allowing just one hit while striking out nine. Green Sea’s Marrow pitched 6.2 innings for seven hits, six runs, six earned runs, four walks, and two home runs, striking out two. Green pitched one third of an inning in relief for the Trojans.

Josh Price led the Gators at bat, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored. Justin Elliott went 2-for-4 with two RBI; Nick Collins was 1-for-3; Hunter Stevens was 1-for-2; Carson Rogers scored two runs; and Weston Rogers added one run in the win. Lake View had seven hits and one error.

Green Sea’s only hit came from Milligan, who went 1-for-3.

The Gators improved to 12-0 on the season and 6-0 in Region 8A as they prepared to host South Robeson on Wednesday.

Lake View will be on the road next week for the Mingo Bay Spring Break Tournament and will be back in regular season action at Latta on Wednesday, April 8.
