Lady Gators Cruise Past Mullins, 13-1

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators cruised to a 13-1 win over the Mullins Auctioneers on Monday night in Mullins as they opened the regular season of varsity softball action.

The Lady Gators picked up five runs in the top of the first inning and added five more in the second for a 10-0 lead. Mullins scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth, and Lake View responded with three more in the top of the fifth to seal the win at 13-1 in five innings.

Ally Spivey got the win on the mound, pitching all five innings for three hits, seven outs, and three walks. K. Flowers took the loss for Mullins, pitching five innings for 13 hits, 13 runs, eight earned runs, and four outs.

Kayla Page went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the Gators at bat, and Ashley Rogers went 2-for-3 with a triple. Jasmine Ford went 3-for-3 at bat, and Logan Spivey went 3-for-4 for Lake View. The Lady Gators had 13 hits in the win.

Mullins was led by Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 at bat. The Lady Auctioneers had three hits and five errors in the effort.

Lake View opened the season with a 1-0 record as they prepared to travel to Dillon on Wednesday night.

Tonight, the Lady Gators are scheduled to be at Florence Christian at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, the Gators will host Creek Bridge to open region play with a double header beginning at 5:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local team!
