Sunset Beach, NC – Charles Gilford Harrelson, 63, died at his residence, Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 6, 2015 at Old Shallotte Baptist Church with interment at 3:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Cemetery of Dillon . Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Mr. Harrelson was born in Dillon, South Carolina, January 15, 1952, the son of the late Ernest Colon and Elsie Ellen Woodle Harrelson. He was a member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church in Ocean Isle, North Carolina, where he was a Head Usher and Church Security for many years. Charles retired as a construction foreman with Crawford Sprinkler.
He is survived by his wife, Diane P. Harrelson; son, Charles Harrelson, Jr. (Denise) of Camden, SC; daughters, Stephanie Diana Harrelson Mitchum (Johnny) of Camden, SC, and Teresa Ann Harrelon Gerraid (Keith) of Franklin, NC; sisters, Patsy English of Dillon, SC, and Joyce Harrelson Wells of Augusta, GA; brother-in-law, Bryan and Timmy Parker, seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Shaw.
