Dillon’s McCollum, Latta’s Sabb Qualify for State Track Meets

Dillon and Latta had athletes who qualified in the Lower State Track Qualifier.

In the Class 2A Lower State meet, Dillon’s Andrianna McCollum won in the 400 meter and also qualified for the 100 yard dash. She will be accompanied at the state meet by Coach Washington, Coach Gunter, and Coach Gray.

In the Class A Lower State qualifier, Latta’s Tyrell Sabb won in the high jump.

Johnsonville had multiple winners, including Shaquille Crouch in boys shot put and discus; Dylan Hanna in boys pole vault; LaQuajah Williams in the girls 100 and 400 Meter; Brenda Jones in girls discus; and Cayley Gunter in girls pole vault.

Carvers Bay also had winners with Lewis Morant in the boys 100 and 200; the boys 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams; Tiera Young in the girls 800 and 1600; the 4×400 girls relay team; and Desaree Green in the girls high jump. Hannah-Pamplico’s 4×100 girls relay team also qualified, and Talicia Murphy won in the girls long jump and triple jump.

The state championship meets will be held this Friday and Saturday at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.
