Warriors Fall to Cavaliers, Titans

The Dillon Christian Warriors took a pair of losses last week, falling 15-1 to Robert E. Lee Academy on Tuesday and 15-5 to the Trinity-Byrnes Titans on Friday in baseball action.

The Warriors hosted Tuesday’s Games against the Cavaliers, and Robert E. Lee Academy took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added five runs in the second and nine in the fourth to lead 15-0. The Warriors got their lone run in the bottom of the fourth.

Lee’s Payton Bramlett got the win on the mound with three hits, one run, six walks, and four outs. He also had four RBIs at bat, while Cody Kelley added three.

Dillon Christian’s Landry Collins took the loss on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings for four hits, seven runs, eight walks, and one hit by pitch. Josh Price pitched 1.1 innings for one hit, six runs, two walks, one hit by pitch, and one out.

Price went 2-for-3 to lead the Warriors at bat, and Conner Hamilton went 1-for-2. Conner Anderson, Douglas Bullock, Landry Collins, Jesse Miller, and Ellison Rourke all reached on walks, and Collins stole two bases.

In the field, Price put out six, Anderson put out three, and Collins and Rourke each put out one. Will Arnette made six assists and Anderson, Rourke, and Isaac Hendrix each made one assist.

In Friday’s game, the Warriors were on the road to Darlington to face the Titans, tying things up 1-1 in the second as both teams scored runs. Trinity-Byrnes took a 2-1 lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth, and jumped ahead to 8-1 with six runs in the fifth. The Warriors rallied for four runs in the sixth, but the Titans added seven runs in the bottom of the inning to seal the 15-5 win.

Dalton Russell got the win for the Titans, pitching five innings for four hits, one run, one earned run, five walks, and four outs. Cameron Pease pitched one inning for four hits, four runs, four earned runs, and one walk.

Josh Price took the loss for the Warriors, pitching five innings for 11 hits, seven runs, seven earned runs, four walks, and four outs.

The Titans were led at bat by Russell, who went 2-for-5 with four RBIs, and Bryson Davis, who went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Rickie Ford went 2-for-3, and Taylor Jones went 2-for-4 for the Titans, and Aiken Boone, Cameron Pease, and Weston Lewis each had one hit in the win. The Titans had 14 hits and one error in the win.

The Warriors were led by Price, who went 3-for-3 with a double and a RBI. Dillon Christian had eight hits and four errors in the loss.

The Warriors are now 1-6 overall this season while Trinity improved to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the region.

Dillon Christian was scheduled to host Fairmont High on Monday and will host Marlboro Academy tonight at 5:00 p.m. before going on spring break. Make plans to attend to support our local team!
