After taking a 10-6 lead in the first, the Lady Gators outscored Creek Bridge 14-9 in the second to lead 24-15 at the half. But the Lady Warriors rallied in the third to outscore Lake View 15-8 and close Lake View’s lead to 32-30. In the fourth, the Warriors kept up the pressure, outscoring the Lady Gators 14-10. With seconds on the clock, Lake View had a chance to tie things up, but a missed shot gave the Warriors the win by just two points.
Whitney Green led Creek Bridge with 17 points and Shayla Graves scored 14 in the win.
Olivia McDaniel led Lake View with 15 points and Jasmine Ford added 11. Kayla Page scored six, Tranya Ford earned five, Kayla Sanderson added four, and Junetta Strickland posted one point for the Wild Gators.
The loss leaves Lake View with a 2-9 record and a 1-2 record in Region 8A.
The Lady Gators will travel to Latta on Friday, January 18, to take on the Lady Vikings, who are currently undefeated in the region. On Tuesday, Lake View will be back home to host Green Sea-Floyds. Both games begin at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
