Robert Braxton Tucker, 69, went to be with his Savior, Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Durham VA Medical Center.
Funeral serviceswere held 3:00 P.M. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation was 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Dillon County, January 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Lacey David Tucker and Lennie Scott Tucker. He was a graduate of Dillon High School, Francis Marion College, and University of South Carolina. He was a member of East Dillon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Stephens Tucker of Dillon; daughter, Robin (Ralph “Joe”) Hunter of Monroe, NC; son, Ray (Angela) Tucker of Surfside Beach; grandchildren, Kristen Hunter, Stacie Hunter, Kirsten Rae Tucker, Kirsten Leigh Anne English, and Christopher “Buddy” English; sisters, Helen Graves of Norfolk, VA and Sonja (Marion) Creel of Dillon; mother-in-law, Lessie Mae Stephens of Dillon; brother-in-law, Johnny Stephens of Dillon; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Hunter; and a brother, Branford Tucker.
