Mr. John Billy Garris, 70, widower of Claire Foxowrth Garris, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at his home after an illness.
Mr. Garris was born April 14, 1942 in Dillon County, a son of the late John Manford Garris and the late Neice Hill Garris.
He retired from Dixianna Mills and was also a retired farmer.
Surviving Mr. Garris are four sons, Derrick Garris of Fork, Johnny (Tammy Lane) Garris of Lake View, Rodney (Leslie) Garris of Fork, and Griffin (Melinda) Garris of Fork; his grandchildren, Cassi, Dakota, Marissa, Austin, Nathan, Madison, Christian, and Cole; a sister, Betty Garris (Jack) Coook of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Garris was predeceased by three brothers, Earl, Frank, and Connie.
Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 26 at Hopewell Cemetery. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
