The Rev. Dr. Wallin Albert “Wally” Williams, Sr., 71, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at home after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Richardson Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 7, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Dr. Williams was born in Kingsport, TN, a son of the late Cecil Williams and Ruth Hutchins Williams. He is also predeceased by his brother, Sherwin Williams. Dr. Williams was a pastor, and held a Doctorate of Theology from Anderson Seminary. He was a veteran of the National Guard, and was retired as Personnel Director for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Currently, he was a member of Christ Community Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Killian Williams of the home; son, Wallin Albert “Bubba” Williams II (Janice) of Longs, SC; daughters, Kimberlee Dawn Williams Pike (Greg) of Marion, Candice Hope Williams McLain (Chuck) of Marion; as well as six grandchildren.
