Vikings Shut Out Auctioneers 11-0

The Latta Vikings shut out the Auctioneers 11-0 in five innings in Mullins in Monday night’s baseball action.

Latta got two runs in the first inning to take the lead and added one run in the second before sealing the win with eight runs in the third. Latta had nine hits and one error in the win, while Mullins had four.

Jeremiah Jenkins picked up the win for Latta, pitching three innings and allowing just one walk with eight outs. Christian Hendrix and Chandler Morrell also pitched for Latta in the no-hitter.

David Stroud pitched two and one-third innings for Mullins, allowing 10 runs, six hits, six earned runs, and five walks with two outs.

Donell Stanley went 1-for-1 with a solo homer, and picked up an RBI for Latta in the win. John Kever Love and Buck Terry each went 2-for-3, and River Owens went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBI.

Latta improved to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in Region 8A as they headed into Tuesday’s game with Lake View.
