Rhonda Davis Selected As District Three Teacher Of The Year

Rhonda Nicolle Davis was recently selected as Teacher of the Year for Dillon School District Three for 2012-2013.
She was one of four school level Teachers of the Year vying for the position of District Teacher of the Year. This year’s school representatives are as follows: Latta High School – Rhonda Nicolle Davis; Latta Middle School – Stephanie Weatherford; Latta Elementary School – Emma Caroline Kinney; Latta Early Childhood Center – Paula Pridgen
Mrs. Davis is native of Sellers, SC and presently resides in Mullins, SC. She has been employed by Dillon School District Three for the last nine years and has a total of nineteen teaching years of experience.
Prior to becoming a part of the educational system of Dillon School District Three she taught mathematics at Johnakin Middle School. Mrs. Davis is back home in that she is a former Valedictorian of Latta High School. She is truly dedicated to teaching. She states, “To me an outstanding teacher must have perseverance to get every child to succeed. Some students enter my classroom unmotivated, but each year I am adamant that I will save the world.”
Mrs. Davis received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Francis Marion University in 1992. She later started a master’s program at Francis Marion and completed that degree in 1996. In addition, Mrs. Davis is a National Board Certified Teacher.
Being selected as District Teacher of the Year qualifies Mrs. Davis as a participant in the selection of South Carolina Teacher of the Year. The South Carolina Teacher of the Year Program is coordinated via the Division of Educator Quality & Leadership and is designed to honor those who are representative of the state’s many exceptional teachers.
Mrs. Rhonda Nicolle Davis is married to Mr. Dennis Davis. Dillon District Three congratulates her on receiving this honor.
The four teachers elected as their schools’ teacher of the Year for the 2011-12 SY includes the following: Paula Long Pridgen, 1st grade teacher at Latta Early Childhood Center, Emma Caroline Kinney, 4th grade teacher at Latta Elementary, Stephanie Weatherford, 6th grade mathematics teacher at Latta Middle, and Rhonda Nicolle Davis, mathematics teacher at Latta High School.
