PTI Meeting Held

Submitted by Linda Gonzales Battle
Our first week PTI (Pre Trial Intervention) meeting was held on Monday, September 26, 2011, 7:00 p.m. at the Riverdale Community Center.
The purpose of this meeting is to sponsor a program by the Solicitor’s office called PTI, which consists of “First Time Offenders” who have been charged with non-violent crimes. This is an eight program that consists of various speakers who share their ideas. In these sessions, there is a question and answer session.
The meeting was opened by Rev. Michael Battle, Chaplain, with prayer. Rev. Battle told the participants as being the Chaplain of the Committee of Concerned Citizens, Inc., the organization does not force religion on anyone, but as for me being a true believer in Christ, I pray that everyone will be saved by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. He spoke from Proverbs 1:17, 15:10, Genesis 1:7, 2:27, “Living a Life That Is Pleasing To God.” Rev. Battle gave an example of being a child and following your parents’ commands. He also talked about the above different scriptures in great detail and gave examples. He stated that no matter where you are in life, God can still use you. In closing, Rev. Battle encouraged the participants to do what is pleasing in God’s sight. We all have different gifts/talents, use them.
