Leo Marvin Barfield
Mr. Marvin Barfield, 81, died Friday, October 15, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence after an illness.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Lake View. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery directed by Cook Funeral Home of Lake View. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Barfield was born in Dillon County on November 5, 1928, the son of the late Evander and Ruby Adams Barfield. Mr. Barfield was a member of a member of First Baptist Church of Lake View and the American Legion. He was an army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Barfield is survived by his wife, Frances Barfield of the home; sons, Marvin Barfield, Jr. of Shanghai, China, Kenny Barfield of Nichols, SC and Glen Barfield of Nichols, SC; daughter, Celeste Barfield of Dillon, SC; sister, Catherine Ford of Raleigh, NC; step daughters, Diane Price of Lexington, SC and Susan Sawyer of Marion, SC; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by a brother, E.V. Barfield and a sister, Clovis Lester.
