A small crowd gathered on the grounds of the Dillon County Courthouse on Monday afternoon for a New Year’s Day prayer service for our county held by the Dillon County Ministers Alliance and Empowerment In Action.
Several pastors sent up prayers or gave musical offerings including Pastor Letha Bunkem, who gave a prayer for the upcoming year; Pastor Raymond Davis, who sang and led the group in Amazing Grace; Pastor Rickey Stuckey, who sang, and Pastor H.B. Drake, who gave a prayer for the church and God’s people.
Comments were offered by Judge James E. Lockemy and Pastor Tommy Lee Pittman. Corporate prayer time was also held.
Mayor Tally McColl gave the benediction. The service lasted approximately an hour.
