Wayne Green has been selected as the new Chief Deputy at the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Jamie Hamilton said he selected Green because they have a good working relationship, experience that had already advanced him to the position of captain, and a good rapport with the officers and the community.
Green started with the City of Dillon Police Department in 1992. He moved to the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office in 1993 serving under Sheriff Harold Grice. He came as a patrolman and then became a third shift supervisor. Within two years, he went to investigations. In 2004, he became a School Resource Office. In 2007, he retired and came back in 2011 and has been working ever since.
Green looks forward to serving in his new capacity as chief deputy.
