Las Amigas, Incorporated is a national, public service, and charitable women’s organization founded by two teachers, Mrs. Dora R. Mason, and Mrs. Mary Q. Moore. It was founded on February 5, 1957, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
On April 23, the Marlboro-Dillon Chapter of Las Amigas, Incorporated were installed as a chapter.
The charter members are Corine Williams, Cherika Alford, Shunda Brown, Abril Leak, Gloria Lloyd, Leomi J. Powe, and Quantelya Johnson, who is the chapter’s organizer.
The Marlboro-Dillon was sponsored by the Morven Chapter.
The mission of Las Amigas, Incorporated, is to enhance the quality of life and promote the general improvement of the communities in which they serve.
The organization is growing and thriving under the leadership of the 21st National President, Agatha Bouvier Martin Grimes.
Las Amigas, Incorporated serves in 4 regional areas:
The Mid-Atlantic Region has Chapters in Virginia in the Chesterfield, Henrico County, Newport News-Hampton, Richmond, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Tri-State areas.
The Northeast Region has Chapters in Maryland in the Baltimore, Forestville, and Seat Pleasant areas.
The Southeast Region has Chapters in the Cumberland County, Fayetteville Elite, Greensboro, Raeford, Raleigh-Durham, Red Springs, St. Pauls/Bladen County, Whiteville, and Wilmington areas.
The Southwest Region has Chapters in Greater Atlanta, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Gastonia, Greenville South Carolina, Gwinnett GA, Marlboro-Dillon, Mooresville, Morven, and Stone Mountain areas.
