Thanks For Projects That Improve The Community

Dear Editor:
In December of 1987, the Friday Afternoon Book Club, now known as the Lake View Woman’s Club, dedicated a Veteran’s War Memorial to all veterans who gave their lives for our country.
From this dedication service the Christmas on the Boulevard Festival was born. The club helped organize the first festival and members of the club served as chairpersons for all the activities. Over the years many people have contributed to this festival and I would not start naming them, for fear of leaving someone out.
A festival of any kind calls for a great deal of organization and hours of work. Those of us who worked for years had become weary with no new helpers on the horizon. That is until now. I am so excited that the young people of our beautiful town have taken an interest in not only the Christmas on the Boulevard Festival but many other events, projects and activities as well. Not only people who were born and raised here but those who have chosen to move to Lake View and make it their home are making a real difference.
To all those past and present who have worked diligently on projects to improve our community, I say thank you and keep up the good work.
