Mount Calvary Awana Club Closing Ceremonies Held

Mount Calvary Baptist Church held the 2021-2022 Awana Club closing ceremonies on Sunday, August 28, at 6:00 p.m.
Co-director Keith Coward was the emcee for the event. Co-director Emily Mew helped with the presentation of the awards.
Coward stated that the purpose of the Awanas was to disciple kids to walk with Christ for life. The 2 to 4-years old Awana Bees and Cubbies are to help build the foundation to the Scripture. The Sparks 5K-second grade are to build the foundation of knowing Jesus and understanding who Jesus is. The third grade through the sixth grade, the T&T, are exploring God’s grace by his character and to know who Jesus is. The Cubbies Ella Haselden, Reid Bostic, Axton Moates, Makayla Griffey, Lily Smith, Colton Campbell, and Landry Walters, all received participation certificates while Meredith Campbell also received a participation certificate plus she completed the Appleseed Book and Special Days. The Sparks Nolan Barnes, Eliza Jo Bostic, Kayleigh Bostic, and Belle King also received participation certificate while the following received trophies and certificates: Gabe Britt who completed Hang Glider Book and all review verses, Neil Britt completed the Hang Glider Book, Tristan George completed the Hang Glider Book Brayden Hasty completed the Hang Glider Book, Carson Hodge completed the Hang Glider Book, Meredith Hodge completed the Hang Glider Book and all review verses, Hudson Lewis completed the Hang Glider Book, Benton Bethea complete the Wing Runner Book, and Kase Coward completed the Sky Stormer Book and all review verses and he also received the Sparky plaque for completing all 3 Spark books.
The points leaders in Sparks were third place, Neil Britt; second place, Gabe Britt; and first place, Kase Coward.
T&T participation certificates were presented to Sierra Froneberger, Grayson Griffey, Lexi Haselden, Ava Huggins, Gabby Kirven, Carson McKenzie, Logan Smith, and Brianna Swindler. Sixth grader Gavin Grant has participated for 10 years. Those receiving trophies and certificates were Eli Meekins who complete Grace in Action Book, Avery McKenzie who completed Grace in Action Book, Edeigh Walters who completed Grace in Action Book and also received the Alpha medal for also completing all silver and gold sections in the book, and Jude Mew who completed Evidence of Grace and also received the Alpha medal for completing all silver and gold sections in the book plus he received the Timothy Award for completing all 4 T&T book, and the Victory Award is given to students who complete all Awana Bees verses, 2 Cubbie books, 3 Sparks books, and 4 T&T Books.
The points leaders in T&T are Avery McKenzie for third place, Edeigh Walters for second place, and Jude Mew for first place.
One when completes the Awanas, one is able to recite the books of the Bible in order, both the Old and New Testaments.
Coward recognized all leaders and workers of the Awanas. He also thanked the church for sponsoring the Awanas.
After a prayer by Coward, Coward spoke from Galatians 6:6-10 about being generous and doing good. He also spoke from Judges 2:10 about looking after our own. He spoke from 2 Timothy, 2:15 about being diligent. He concluded with Ephesians 6:4 about bringing up children in the training and admonition of the Lord.
Coward challenged the church. Coward closed the Awana Club closing ceremonies with prayer.
Pastor Harold Cooke had an invitation “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”. The Benediction was held. Mount Calvary Baptist Church is located at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
