PHOTO GALLERY: Dillon Junior American Legion Defeats Marion

The Dillon Junior American Legion baseball team defeated Marion 8-0 in the final regular season game for them on Wednesday, June 28, in Dillon.
John Rourke picked up the win for Dillon. He pitched 5 innings and struck out 6. Kobe King pitched the sixth inning for Dillon, and Daniel Chestnut closed out the seventh.
Dillon took an early lead in the game and never trailed. After 3 and 1/2 innings Dillon led 5-0.
Bobo McKinnon garnered a walk in the bottom of the fourth inning. Barnes Causey hit a hot one between first and second for a single, and runners were on first and second with one out. Both runners advanced on a pick-off attempt at second. Davis Cook was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Jared Darmon was walked, and a run scored. Another run scored on a passed ball to give Dillon a 7-0 lead.
Dillon loaded the bases again in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jackson Hayes hit a long one to center for a lead-off double. John Rourke hit a grounder between third and short to place runners on the corners. Chase Dudney hit 1 up the middle for a single and a rbi. Bobo McKinnon garnered a walk, and the bases were loaded with no outs. Daniel Camp hit a grounder to short, and the runner was thrown out at home on a forced play. The threat was killed on a double play for Marion. After 5 innings of play, Dillon was up 8-0.
