Dillon County First Steps held its annual meeting on Tuesday, October 25 at Manning Baptist Church, Dillon.
Carla Simon Angus graduated from Lake City High School in 1991.
Then she attended Winthrop University where she earned a BA in Elementary Education then later a Masters in Administrative School Leadership.
Angus has served as a fitness instructor, color guard instructor, elementary teacher, high school coach, elementary and middle school assistant principal, curriculum coordinator and had the wonderful opportunity to serve as an elementary principal at South Elementary School.
Dillon County First Steps elected officers for a one year term at the annual meeting. Officers are Ja-Novice Greene-Richardson, Board Chair; Shalana Buie, Vice-Chair; Inetta Robinson, Secretary; and Se’Lisa Scott, Assistant Secretary.
Board members elected to serve a two year term are: Norma Coote, Barbara McClellan, Cynthia Hulon, James A. McDuffie, Shalana Buie, Alexia McKoy, Cynthia Pernell, Gabriel Salmon, Se’Lisa Scott, Dianne Thompson, Allen Robinson, Inetta Robinson, Teresa Mason, Nancy Leach, Beverly McDuffie, Gwendolyn McClellan, and Ja-Novice Greene-Richardson.
Agency Appointed Board Members are: Martha Heyward, Latta School District Three; Shawn Johnson, Dillon School District Four; Helen Gilchrist, Dillon County Library; Jackie Rowland, DSS; Rashawn Aaron, Head Start; and Nina Bradley, DHEC.
Legislative Appointed Board Members are: Brenda Bucy, Johnnie Luehrs, Mary B. Kinney, and Doretha S. Page.
Angela S. Coward, Administrative/Program Assistant presented the FY 2011 Annual Report.
Shantel McTeer, Parent Educator was our soloist.
Ms. Richardson will appoint committee chairs and board members will serve for one year on a committee.
Dr. Daniel W. Blue, Jr., Executive Director served as program facilitator.
