Longtime Trenton Schools employee Mamie E. Bethea Leonard of Ewing was inducted into Claflin University Hall of Fame in Orangeburg, SC recently.
Leonard was born in Dillon, SC and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies from Claflin and continued her studies at Columbia University in New York, where she received a Master’s degree in Education. She retired in 2000 after 38 years with Trenton Board of Education where she was a Teacher Administrative Assistant, Supervisor for home instruction, Vice Principal and Principal She is a member of local organizations including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Mercer County Retired Administrators Association.
She has been a member of Greater Mount Zion AME Church for 42 years.
