Ru’s Shaggy Dogs
1/2 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped dates
2 cups Rice Krispies
coconut and/or confectioners sugar
Combine margarine, sugar, eggs and dates in a pot and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Add Rice Krispies and nuts. Mix well. Cool until you can handle with ease. Roll into small balls and roll in coconut and/or powdered sugar. Makes about 50 date balls.
