Graves Signs With Morris College

A’Doshia Graves began the next chapter in her softball career as she signed with Morris College on Tuesday, May 22, at Dillon High School.

At the signing ceremony, Athletic Director Coach Jackie Hayes congratulated Graves for her accomplishment. He informed everyone present that A’Doshia was a model student-athlete and that DHS needs more of the same. Coach exclaimed “It’s difficult to get sports out of the Graves Family. You will be very successful in life. We appreciated your contributions to our program and our school.”
Coach also thanked her parents for their involvement in A’Doshia’s career.
A’Doshia always strived to do better each day at practice and at a game as she was encouraged and supported by members of her family, especially her Mom. However, her inspiration came from her Grandmother who influenced her most in this sport.
Although A’Doshia has played softball for only five years, she has excelled in the sport, and she also plays basketball for the Lady Wildcats.

Although she was offered by Claflin, she decided to accept the offer from Morris College as the transition should be an easy one as she likes the school and knows some of the people.
A’Doshia will carry precious memories of the 2014 State Championship Dillon High School softball team with her.
Graves has always given 100% while at practice or at a game. She knows that nothing is given, and that everything is earned. She will carry this work ethic with her to Morris College where she will major in sports management.
Graves should have no problem receiving playing time as she plays second base, shortstop, and left field.
When not on the field practicing or playing, this young, well-mannered lady enjoys singing and is active in church.
She has been coached by some of Dillon’s best: Coach Roller, Coach Larry, Coach Stevie, Coach Young, and Coach Carter. All of her coaches only had positive remarks of A’Doshia and her playing skills. It was a pleasure to be able to contribute to her softball career. We expect only great accomplishments from her.
Her parents, Vanetta Graves and Patrick Legette, are so proud of their daughter and in the manner she presents herself. She is so respectful of others and possesses good manners. Not only does she possess these fine traits, she also plays softball very well. When we think of our daughter, a huge smile comes on our faces.
