The Lake View Junior American League baseball team defeated Pamplico 6-4 in Pamplico on Monday, June 12.
Hunter Herlong picked up the win. He pitched 4 innings and allowed 7 hits, 4 runs of which only 1 was earned, walked 2, and struck out 3.
Mason Hicks pitched 6 innings for Pamplico and was tagged with the loss. He allowed 7 hits, 5 runs of which 3 were earned, walked 3, and struck out 6. Neither team could muster any scoring until the top of the fourth inning when Lake View managed to get 3 runs on the scoreboard. Pamplico responded with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a short-lived 1-run lead. Lake View added a run in the top of each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Lake View’s Keiondre Wheeler connected for 2 hits in 3 at-bats while Jalik Roberts picked up 3 rbi on 1 hit in 4 at-bats. Pamplico’s Lucas Cooper connected for a double and a single in 3 at-bats while Mason Hicks picked up 2 rbi on 1 hit in 3 at-bats. Lake View will travel to Wilson on Friday, June 16.
