DCS Warriors Fall 16-10 to King’s Academy Lions

Dillon Christian School’s Warriors fell 16-10 to The King’s Academy on Friday in varsity baseball action in Dillon.

The Lions started things off with a 2-0 lead in the first and added two runs each in the second and third innings. The Warriors got their first run in the second and added three in the third to trail the Lions 6-4.

King’s Academy added five runs in the fourth to take a more commanding 11-4 lead and added two more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to lead 15-4.

The Warriors rallied in the bottom of the sixth for six runs, but weren’t able to pick up that momentum in the seventh, where the Lions added one more run to seal the win.

Hunter Long picked up the win for The King’s Academy, pitching five innings for four runs, one earned run, five hits, and one out. Dillon Christian’s Landry Collins took the loss, allowing two runs and two earned runs.

Dylan Bryant led the Lions at bat, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Hunter Long went 2-for-4, and Zac Clements went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. The Lions had 16 hits and six errors in the win.

Jonathon Justice led the Warriors at bat, going 3-for-5, while Troy Davis went 2-for-3. The Warriors had a total of eight hits and five errors in the loss.

The King’s Academy improves to 2-4 in SCISA Region 4-2A. The Warriors are 0-7.

Tonight, Dillon Christian hosts The Byrnes Schools at 5:00 p.m., and on Friday, the Warriors will travel to Marlboro Academy.
