Cody Allen Gasque received the Eagle Scout Award on Sunday, February 26, a 3 p.m., at East Dillon Baptist Church, Dillon.
Cody is a member of Boy Scout Troop 777 and has been in scouting for 12 years. His scoutmaster is Rick Gardner.
Boy Scouts of America offers this most prestigious award for many accomplishments including a project by the recipient that benefits society.
Cody’s project was the construction of a 20’x 22’ shelter at the Latta Recreation Department that is used by all for cooking, watching ball games, etc.
The balance of the unused funds was donated to the Ryan Lee Memorial ($200) and to the Seba and Lou Stoudenmire Scholarship ($1,438).
Cody’s parents are Allen and Sherry Gasque of Latta. His grandparents are J.W. and Miriam Gasque, Latta, and Jerry and Linda McKellar, Dillon.
