Last year I toured the then new multi-million dollar Dillon Middle School and in a Herald column made the  comment that its presence was a far cry from what the national media unfortunately had once portrayed it to be, a part of the state’s Corridor of Shame.

I know that when my son reads this, he will most likely be a bit embarrassed due to the fact that the idea for this commentary was birthed as a result of a conversation that he and I recently had.  

Remember?

The principal link we have to connect us with the past is our memory.  Obviously if it were a past experience, it’s mostly gone except for the mental pictures of it that we store in our minds usually easily recalled on demand. 

The First Time

There can only be one FIRST time although it can be repeated endlessly but never initially. Important and many unimportant first events in life can be recalled vividly even years from their occurrences.
