Dogs killed a woman in Dillon on Thursday afternoon, The Herald has learned. Law enforcement was called to 1560 West Main Street in reference to a dog attack.

State Library Hosts Smithsonian Poster Exhibit

The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) has joined the educational organization Facing History and Ourselves to dramatically increase access to the themes and content in its national initiative Choosing to Participate with a set of posters designed to encourage dialogue, engagement, respect and participation in classrooms and communities. This poster exhibit is currently on display at the SC State Library located at 1500 Senate Street in Columbia.

Dillon County’s First African-American Deputy Dies

Earlia Ray Vanderhall, the first African-American deputy to work for the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at McLeod Medical Center, Dillon.
