The City of Dillon will have Hallowe’en Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, October 30th from 6-8 p.m.
The Dillon District One Board of Trustees held their regular meeting August 18 at the district office.
Former Dillon resident, Timmy Dee, will be singing the theme song for the movie, “Ten.” The song, which was written some time ago by Timmy, was chosen as the theme song for the movie and will soon be recorded in the studio. The production and shooting for the movie, “Ten,” is ongoing. Due to new relocations and production delays, the movie will take a little longer than anticipated.
James Moultrie was recently selected as Dillon County’s representative in the “Honoring Our Elders Celebration” which was part of the S.C. Black Family Expo.
More than 100 schools and over 50,000 students, parents, educators, and neighbors in the state will participate in International Walk to School Day events on Wednesday October 6, 2010. South Carolina is one of the top five states in the country in participation in International Walk to School Day.
The state is among 62 winners of Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grants announced today by U.S Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. South Carolina’s award of $47,189,299 is the fifth largest for a statewide education agency.

Dillon High School’s Beth Hinson has been named Dillon School District Two 2010-2011 District Teacher of the Year. Dillon School District Two announced Mrs. Hinson’s selection during the September 20th board meeting honoring all Teachers of the Year for the 2010-2011 school year.
Judgement House 2010 kicked off for the 7th year with a new script, “Words.”
On Friday, September 12th and Saturday, September 13th, East Dillon Baptist church opened its doors from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. for groups of 15 or 20 to participate in a walk-through drama.
