Dooley, Rev. Dexter Lambert, Rev. Edgar Foster and Rev. Billy McLellan officiating, burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Dillon, SC.

Dillon Church Of God Passes Building Project Plans

On September 26, the Dillon Church of God was called into a business meeting in which the motion was made and carried to pay off current church indebtedness and to move forward with a proposed building project, contingent upon the sale of the church property located at 701 Highway 301 South in Dillon.

National Newspaper Week: Why Newspapers Will Be Around Tomorrow

The way that people consume information is changing rapidly, and I hear frequently that the death of newspapers is imminent. I think that people feel this way because they aren’t regular newspaper readers or they just don’t think that other people read newspapers as much as they did ten years ago. If they’re referring to the printed newspaper, they are usually correct.

Fire Prevention Week: Do You Have Enough Smoke Alarms?

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside all sleeping areas, and on every level of the home, including the basement. According to the NFPA, which develops NFPA 72, National Smoke Alarm Code®, many homes still don’t have that level of protection. Unfortunately, almost two-thirds of home fire deaths per year result from fires in homes with no smoke alarms at all or no working smoke alarms.
