This is how my column came to mind. I listened to a sermon recently about the Parable of the Talents as recorded in Matthew 25:14-30 and Luke 19:12-28.

Fire Chiefs Working To Lower ISO

The Dillon County Fire Chiefs Association met on June 8th in Latta and had a productive meeting. Those in attendance discussed alternative water supplies, and what they thought were the biggest challenges for Station 2 (Latta), Station 9 (Oak Grove) and Floyd Dale to meet the goal of reducing the ISO Rating to a seven in our districts.

Latta To Receive $500,000 Grant

The Town of Latta will receive a $500,000 Community Infrastructure grant from the Community Development Block Grant program, according to a letter the town received from Governor Nikki R. Haley.
