Latta Lady Vikings Invade Gator Land And Come Back With Win

The Latta Lady Vikings invaded Wild Gator land and left with a 4-0 shut out over Lake View in varsity softball played on Friday, May 12, in pursuit of a 1 A Lower State Championship in Lake View.
The bats were calm in this outing for these two teams as only 6 hits were made in the game.
Maddie Berry picked up the win for the Lady Vikings. She pitched 7 innings and struck out 13, walked 6, allowed 2 hits, and no runs.
Raven Locklear took the loss for the Wild Gators. She pitched 7 innings and struck out 6, walked 4, allowed 4 hits, and allowed 4 runs that were not earned.
After a scoreless first inning, Latta’s Paisley Jackson singled and a run score to give Latta a 1-0 lead. Latta added a run in the top of the third inning and 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Latta’s Jena Stutler had a triple, a single, a walk, and a rbi in her 4 plate appearances. Paisley Jackson had a single and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Lake View’s Emma King had a triple and 2 walks in her 4 plate appearances. Zy’Kiara Waters had a single in 3 at-bats. Chloe Cox garnered 2 walks in her 3 plae appearances.
Raven Locklear had a walk in 4 plate appearances while Hollie Scott had a walk in 3 plate appearances. Latta committed 2 errors in the game, and Lake View committed 3 errors.
Latta is 21-5 overall for the season.
