PHOTO GALLERY: Marlboro County Bulldogs Get Win Over Warriors

The Marlboro Academy Dragons defeated the Dillon Christian School Warriors 13-0 in varsity baseball action played in Dillon on Monday, April 24.
Gavin Jones was on the mound for the Warriors. With 2 outs in the top of the first inning, Marlboro Academy managed to get 2 runs onto the scoreboard on a strike-out and a steal.
In the bottom of the first inning with 2 outs with #8 on the mound for the Dragons, the Warriors’ Greyson Singletary hit one and ended up on third. Gavin Jones was hit by a pitch. With runners on the corners, Rylee Martin hit a grounder to third for out 3.
The Dragons’ #3 bunted safely and ended up on third due to a throw. Marlboro Academy’s #10 bunted safely and a run scored to give the Dragons a 3-0 lead. #10 stole second. #15 popped up to short followed by #2 who hit a fly to center for out 2. #10 moved to third. #6 garnered a walk. #20 hit a grounder to left field for a single and 2 rbi. A passed ball allowed #20 to move to third. #7 hit a fly to center for out 3. The Dragons added 3 runs in the top of the second inning.
With 2 outs in the bottom of the second inning, Hayden Moody hit a chopper to third and arrived safely at first. He stole second. A strike-out ended the scoring threat.
Marlboro Academy added 3 runs in the top of the third inning to give the Dragons an 8-0 lead over the Warriors.
Jackson Outlar led off the bottom of the third inning with a grounder to first for a single. Outlar stole second but was thrown out attempting to steal third. Two strike-outs followed to end the inning.
The Dragons added a run in the top of the fourth inning to give Marlboro Academy a 9-0 lead.
The Warriors went down in 1-2-3 fashion in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Eli Garris came in relief in the top of the fifth inning for the Warriors.
