Carolyn Sealey Evans, 74, of Greensboro, NC, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 23, 2023. Carolyn was born on February 3, 1948 in Lumberton, NC and grew up in the Oakdale Church community. In 1993 she moved to Greensboro, NC. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Marie Sealey. Carolyn was the beloved wife of James Hoyt Evans, celebrating 54 years of marriage. She was a beautician for many years and was a member of King’s Cross Church in Greensboro, NC. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her family immensely.
Even though Carolyn fought a battle with breast cancer in 2008 and lung cancer in 2022 she graced everyone with her ever-present smile. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors are her husband, daughter Sheila Evans Kurtiak (Phil) of Gibsonville, NC; two grandchildren Ryan Kurtiak of Charlottesville, VA and Savannah Kurtiak of Gibsonville,NC, brother, Kenneth Sealey (Deborah) of Lumberton, NC. She was preceded by her parents and a younger brother Michael Sealey (Cynthia) of Trinity, NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation hours will be Friday, January 27th from 6-8 p.m. at Floyd Funeral Services 1549 Marion Stage Road Fairmont NC 28340.
A graveside service was held Saturday, January 28th at 11 a.m. at Lake View Cemetery located at 802 Hilltop Ave., Lake View, SC 29563.
