The Latta junior varsity boys defeated the visiting Lake View team on Friday, January 27 in Latta.
The Latta junior varsity Vikings held a 12-point lead after the first quarter of play and continued to increase the lead each quarter. However, the Lake View team did not give up as they fought to place points onto the scoreboard.
Latta’s McDonald pumped in 13 points with four 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 2 free throws to lead all scorers. J. P. Bley added 11 points to the scoreboard. Mew, Bethea, and Rouse each contributed 6 points in the Vikings’ win. McRae managed 4 points while Drawhorn, Watson, McDonald, and Hamilton each sank a 2-point basket.
Lake View’s Caleb Roundtree and Timothy Waters each sank two 2-point baskets for 4 points each. Bryce King and Cameron Wheeler each connected for a 3-point shot. Landon King, Terrence Alford, Ammiel Rowland, and Connor connected for a 2-point basket.
Lake View committed 4 fouls in the first half and 8 fouls in the second half while Latta committed 3 fouls in the first half and 4 fouls in the second half. Lake View will host Green Sea Floyds today (Tuesday, January 31) at 5:00 p.m.
Latta will host Hannah-Pamplico today (Tuesday, January 31) at 5:00 p.m.
