Arbor Day Observed

In honor of Arbor Day, the Dillon Glove and Trowel Garden Club with the assistance of the City of Dillon Street Department planted a tree at the rear side of the City of Dillon Wellness Center at 1647 Commerce Drive, Dillon, S.C.
The observance of Arbor Day began in Nebraska in 1872.
President Nixon signed Arbor Day as a national holiday on April 10, 1970. Arbor Day is the first Friday in December each year in South Carolina.
Burt Rogers offered a prayer for Arbor Day.
Everyone is encouraged to plant a tree as it is good for our environment.
The Dillon Glove and Trowel Garden Club President Becky Lyell thanked all members who were present at the event and also thanked the City of Dillon Street Department for being there.
