Heather Gray Moody, teacher at Lake View Elementary School, was named the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year. She was voted Teacher of the Year by her colleagues and will go on to represent the school as she competes for Dillon District Four Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Moody is a graduate of Lake View High School which she stated made it more special to win the award. Heather is a 2009 graduate of Francis Marion University where she received a degree in Early Childhood Education. She later went on to receive a Master’s in Learning Disabilities. She has taught for 12 years at various grade levels. She currently teaches kindergarten.
Heather stated, “Being nominated Teacher of the Year is such a great honor yet never expected. Doing what I love every day is an award within itself. I love the Lake View community and am grateful to be able to partner with parents to help instill a love of learning in our kindergarten kids.”
Heather is married to Autrey Moody and has two children, Boyce, age four, and Lucy Beth, age 9 months. We congratulate her on this special honor.
