Mount Calvary Baptist Church celebrated Mother’s Day and Child Dedication on Sunday, May 8, at the 11:00 a.m. morning service.
The pastor’s sermon was from Luke 18:15-17.
Due to the Covid pandemic, Child Dedication for the past few years was held at the beginning of the service with Andrew David Campbell, Jr. who was born on January 4, 2022. He is the son of Andrew and Frannie Campbell. Braxlyn Michael George was born on October 28, 2021. He is the son of Michael and Candice George. Autumn Rain Huggins was born on October 23, 2018. He is the son of Brandon and Julie Huggins. Scarlett Jolee Price, daughter of Justin and Jennifer Price, was absent due to sickness. She will be dedicated at a later date.
The oldest mother, the youngest mother, and the mother with the most children present were all honored. Mrs. Jean Pittman was the oldest mother present as Brandi Haselden was the mother with the most children present. Three were tied for the youngest mother: Joy Boston, Leah Gibbs, and Haley Hamilton.
Miss Linda McKenzie was also recognized for her many contributions to the church.
Mount Calvary Baptist Church is located at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
