The Dillon Lady Wildcats picked up a 2-0 win over the Pee Dee Academy Lady Falcons in varsity softball action played in Marion on Wednesday, April 6.
Paige Sherman picked up the win for Dillon. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 3 hits, no ones, walked 2, and struck out 6.
Jordan Perritt took the loss for Pee Dee. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 3 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 2, and struck out 2.
Dillon’s Cierra Grice had a hit, 2 rbi, and a walk while Paige Sherman and Chesney Caddell each had a hit. Shakinah Murphy scored a run.
Pee Dee’s Jordan Perritt had 2 hits, and Allison Carter had a hit while Maddie Coward garnered 2 walks.

The AAAA Hartsville Lady Red Foxes returned home on Thursday, April 7, with a 5-0 shut out over the AAA Dillon Lady Wildcats in varsity action softball non-conference action played in Dillon. Alyssa Poston picked up the win for the Lady Red Foxes. She pitched 7 innings and faced 27 batters of which she allowed 5 hits, no runs, walked no one, and struck out 15. Chesney Caddell pitched 4 innings and faced 22 batters of which she allowed 7 hits, 5 runs of which 2 were earned, walked no one, and struck out 3. Paige Sherman pitched the final 3 innings and faced 11 batters of which she allowed 2 hits, no runs, walked no one, and struck out 5. Hartsville’s Alyssa Poston had a triple, a single, 2 rbi, and scored a run in her 4 at-bats. Caydon Thompson had a double, a single, and a rbi in her 4 at-bats. Kindon Dawson had 2 singles and score a run in her 4 at-bats. Myah Havey had a single and scored a run in her 3 at-bats. Abbey Byrd had a single in her 3 at-bats. Dillon’s Cierra Grice had a double in her 3 at-bats. Shakinah Murphy had a single and a stolen base in her 2 at-bats. Erika Williamson had a single and a stolen base in her 3 at-bats. Jenascia Lester and Logan Grice each had a single in 3 at-bats. Dillon committed 3 errors in the game while Hartsville committed an error. Dillon is 14-3 overall and 2-3 in AAA Region 7.

The Latta Vikings claimed the 5-4 win over the visiting Marion High School Swamp Foxes varsity baseball on a walk-off sacrifice fly by John Hucks in the bottom of the seventh inning in the game played in Latta.
The Swamp Foxes took the lead in the top of the second inning when K J Hughes drove in one when Hughes singled.
The score was knotted again when Marion High School tied the game at four in the top of the sixth inning.
Latta’s Christian Brigman took the win. The lefthander went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs on six hits and struck out 6.
Jakobe Dims took the loss for Marion High School. He lasted one-third of an inning and allowed 1 hit, 1 run, and walked 1.
The Latta Vikings had 6 hits in the game with Seth Minshew and Dylan Shelley each with 2 hits.
The Swamp Foxes had 6 hits. Hughes and John Reef both managed multiple hits for Marion High School.
Marion High School didn’t commit a single error. Hughes had the most chances in the field with 7.

The Carolina Forest Lady Panthers left Latta on Monday, April 4, with a 13-6 win over the Latta Lady Vikings in junior varsity softball action.
The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning when the Lady Panthers placed 2 runs on the scoreboard. Each team added a run in the fourth inning. Latta added 5 runs in the top of the fifth inning while Latta added 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Latta added 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning led by singles by Erika Roberts and Arora Freed and a double by Madison Kersey. Carolina Forest added 5 runs in the top of the seventh aided by an error by H. Robardson and Sophia Loveiro and a triple by Aspen Whittington. Latta connected for 9 hits while holding Carolina Forest to 5 hits. However, Latta suffered with 8 errors while Carolina Forest committed only 1 error.
Carolina Forest’s Madison Ashmore picked up the win for the Lady Panthers. She pitched 1.1 innings and allowed 1 hit, no runs, no walks, and struck out 2. Aspen Whittington started the game and pitched 5.2 innings and allowed 8 hits, 6 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 7, and struck out 6.
Erika Roberts was charged with the loss for Latta. She pitched 4 innings and allowed 10 runs of which only 1 was earned, 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. Paisley Jackson started the game on the mound and pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 runs of which 2 were earned, no hits, walked 3, and struck out 9.

Latta’s Jayla Jackson opened on the mound for Latta. She pitched 4.2 innings and allowed 6 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 1, and struck out 5. Maddie Berry pitched the final 2.1 innings and allowed no runs, no hits, walked 2, and struck out 5 in the win.
Harlee Lebiedz was tagged with the loss. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 4, and struck out 5.
Latta’s Katelyn Johnson had 2 hits in 3 at-bats, and Ragan Bethea had a double in 3 at-bats.
Marion’s Maliyah Williams had a triple, a single, and a rbi in 4 at-bats, and Anna Grace Page had a double and a single in 3 at-bats.

The Lake View Lady Wild Gators shut out the Green Sea Floyds Lady Trojans 9-0 in varsity softball action played in Green Sea on Wednesday, April 6.
Lake View jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after the first half of the first inning. Lake View managed to hold Green Sea Floyds scoreless in the bottom of the first inning. Neither team could muster a score in the second inning. However, in the top of the third inning, Lake View sent a run across home plate and added 2 more runs in the top of the fourth inning and 2 more runs in the top of the fifth inning to close out the scoring for the game.
Lake View’s Raven Locklear picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 3 hits, no runs, walked 1, and struck out 6.
Green Sea Floyds’ Bailey Strickland took the loss. She also pitched 7 innings and allowed 10 hits, 9 runs of which 8 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 3.
Lake View’s Raven Locklear connected for 3 hits and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats while Baxleigh Arnette had a hit and 3 rbi in 4 at-bats. Becca Cox had a hit and a rbi in 4 at-bats. Spivey Evans connected for 2 hits in 4 at-bats while Baylee Miller had a hit in 3 at-bats.

In the first game of the double-header, Latta won 8-3 with Christian Brigman picking up the win. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 3 runs of which 2 were earned, 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6.
