On Friday, February 11, 2022, Austin H. Fairley, 24, of Red Springs and Chandler T. Lowry, 23, of Shannon were arrested after a traffic stop by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Division, U.S. Marshals Carolinas Fugitive Task Force and Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Fairley and Lowry were wanted by Dillon County Sheriff’s Office (S.C.) in connection to the death of Phillip Campbell, 31, of Red Springs. Campbell died after being shot at a Dillon County nightclub on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
The traffic stopped occurred on Old Lowery Road, Red Springs, NC and led to the locating and seizure of cocaine, crack cocaine, alprazolam, fentanyl, firearms and U.S. Currency.
Fairley and Lowry are charged with fugitive of other state for murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in relation to the Dillon County investigation. They are also charged with two (2) counts to conspiracy to traffic cocaine, trafficking cocaine, felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and/or deliver a schedule IV controlled substance. Fairley is also charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fairley and Lowry were placed in the custody of the Robeson County Detention Center without bond on the murder charge. Fairley was given a $545,000 secured bond for the weapon and drug charges. Lowry was given a $1,000,000 secured bond for the drug charges. Fairley and Lowry will receive an extradition hearing in North Carolina before being extradited to South Carolina for an official arraignment.
Sincir T. McLean, 20, and Arron Fairley, 21, both of Red Springs are wanted for the charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in relation to the death of Campbell.
Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating multiple shootings into residences and vehicles that have recently occurred in the Red Springs and Shannon areas that may be connected to the Dillon County investigation. The investigators have developed persons of interest in the shootings and arrests are likely.
