COVID-19 Numbers Back On The Rise

COVID-19 numbers are back on the rise, and residents are urged to take the necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of the disease.
Dillon County is the 7th worst in the state in terms of vaccination rates in Dillon County. Only 50.6 percent of Dillon County’s population is vaccinated. The highest vaccination rates are in Little Rock with 92.5 percent and Lake View with 62.2 percent. The lowest are in Dillon with 37.6 percent, Latta with 45.9 percent, and Hamer with 42.8 percent.
Eighty-two (82) cases were reported in Dillon County on January 9th. There were 60 reported cases on January 8th, 71 on January 7th, 115 on January 6th, 67 on January 5th, 63 on January 4th, 32 on January 3rd, 31 on January 2nd, 55 on January 1st, 67 on December 31st, and 72 on December 30th. This totals 715 reported COVID-cases in the past two weeks.
The total cumulative cases in Dillon County since the pandemic began is 7,461.
Residents are urged to continue to wash their hands frequently, use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available, clean frequently touched surfaces, social distance keeping six feet apart from others, cleaning your phones, and getting vaccines and booster shots.
