Local Students Having College Football Success

Ahmari Huggins-Bruce, former Dillon High School standout, is having a good freshman year as a wide receiver with the Louisville Cardinals.
He has played in 5 games to this point this year.
He has rushed 2 times for 15 yards for a 7.5 average.
On September 6 against Mississippi, he had 2 receptions for 18 yards for a 9-yard average. On September 11, he had 4 receptions for 151 yards for a 37.8-yard average.
On September 17 against UCF he caught 1 pass for 5 yards. On October 2 against Wake Forest he had 2 receptions for 16 yards for an 8-yard average. On October 9 against the University of Virginia he had 4 receptions for 70 yards for a 17.5-yard average.
At this point of the season, Ahmari Huggins-Bruce has had 20 receptions for 260 yards for a 20-yard average.

The Golden Bears defeated Concord University 48-3 at home on Saturday, October 16.
The Golden Bears scored 14 points in the first quarter while holding Concord University scoreless.
Tyreik McAllister, former Latta High School standout, scored a 58-yard rushing touchdown with 11:44 remaining in the second quarter. The PAT was good. The Golden Bears also added another touchdown and another PAT in the second quarter while the Concord University added a field goal.
In the third quarter, the Golden Bears placed 20 points on the scoreboard while holding Concord University scoreless.
Neither team managed to score in the fourth quarter.
McAllister carried the ball 14 times in the game for a net gain of 196 yards for a 14-yard average. He also caught 2 passes for 30 yards.
McAllister leads the team in rushing this season with 652 yards.
The University of Charleston will travel to Pembroke, N.C., for a 12:00 noon start.
