Warriors Fall To Eagles In Final Home Game Of The Season

The Dillon Christian School Warriors hosted the Eagles of Pee Dee Academy Friday night. The Warriors were observing senior night as this was the final home game of the season for the Warriors. Pee Dee handed the Warriors a disappointing 42-13 loss but the parents who stood beside their sons and daughters at halftime were just as proud this night as if the Warriors had won this big rivalry game.
The Eagles finished their opening drive with Hudson Spivey scoring on a seven-yard run. Drew Singletary added the point after kick to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead with 10:27 left in the first quarter. On the Eagles second possession Spivey finished the drive with a 30-yard touchdown run. Singletary’s point after kick upped the Eagles lead to 14-0 with 5:03 left in the first quarter.
With 1:19 left in the first quarter Warrior quarterback Trey Pelt hit receiver Jackson Outlar with a 28-yard touchdown pass. Outlar added the point after kick to close the Eagle lead to 14-7. The first quarter would end with this score.
Warrior running back Hayden Hickman ran 87 yards for a touchdown with 11:04 left in the second quarter. The point after kick was off and the Warriors trailed the Eagles 14-13. The Eagles struck back quickly with Colby Sinclair crossing the goal line on a 34-yard run. Singletary’s point after kick put the Eagles up 21-13. Spivey attacked the Warriors from the air as the first half was closing hitting receiver Landon Nobles with a 54-yard touchdown pass. Singletary’s point after kick increased the Eagle’s lead to 28-13 with the first half ending with this score.
On the Eagles first possession of the third quarter Spivey hit receiver Alan Moore with a 27-yard touchdown pass. Singletary’s point after kick upped he Eagles lead to 35-13 with 8:01 left in the third quarter. Spivey and Nobles connected again with 3:19 left in the third. This time on a 24-yard touchdown pass. Singletary added the final point of the game to give the Eagles a 42-13 lead.
The remainder of the game had the clock run without stoppage as the Warriors had many of their starters on the bench with injuries.
Warrior coaches Christian Wolfe and Douglas Jackson stated the remaining two games were very important with travel games against Myrtle Beach Christian and The Kings Academy. Coaches Wolfe and Jackson stated that normally the Warriors would be favored in these games but six to eight players are questionable for the first game. If the Warriors win these games they are in the playoffs with a possible first game at home.
The stats for this game were given by team statistician Matt Adams. The stats are true as the Right Reverend Adams does not exaggerate or so he says.
On offense for the Warriors, Trey Pelt was 27 of 48 for 197 yards and a touchdown, Hayden Hickman had an 87-yard touchdown run, Jackson Outlar caught a 28-yard touchdown pass and added a point after kick, and Dominic Blue had 14 yards on 8 carries.
On defense, Hayden Hickman, Jacob Gerald, and Ron Bracey had five tackles each; Dominic Blue and Cade Williams had four tackles each; and Trey Pelt had three tackles.
