Services for Malinda Ann Powers will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Hamer Church of God with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Malinda, 38, passed peacefully with family by her side at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after a short illness.
Born in Dillon, SC, November 6, 1982, she was the daughter of Patricia Ann George and the late Tommy Darryl Wallace. She graduated from Dillon High School, Class of 2002, and was employed by Advance America as an Assistant Manager. She was the Co-owner and bookkeeper of Chris’ Garage in Rowland, NC.
Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Christopher Lee Powers (Chris) of the home; Her babies as she called them, Dwayne Gaddy, Jason Gaddy, and Vanessa Gaddy of Dillon, SC; canine companion, Repo of the home; mother, Patricia Ann George (Thomas) of Dillon; step-mother, Jennifer Wallace of Lake View, SC; sister, Christy Stone (Chris), and her children Wade and Thomas of Dillon; mother & father-in-law, Roger and Marie Gaddy of Dillon, SC; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Malinda was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Darryl Wallace; paternal grandfather, Tommy Wallace; paternal grandmother, Colleen W. Lock; maternal grandparents, Walker & Thelma Hargrove.
