Roundtable To Focus On Impact Of Broadband Connectivity

As part of a continuous commitment to expand broadband access, representatives of Spectrum and Northeastern Technical College (NETC) are joined by state Sen. Kent Williams and state Rep. Jackie Hayes to host a roundtable discussion focused on the impact of broadband connectivity in rural and unserved areas. The collaborative session provides an opportunity to learn more about the opportunities and challenges of digital equity across the Pee Dee Region. The roundtable is taking place today, Thursday, Sept. 30, at the NETC Dillon Campus.
“We applaud Spectrum for their continued commitment to expand broadband services in our local communities,” said state Sen. Kent Williams. “This will help many businesses, educators and community members across our region stay connected.”
“It’s great to see a local company like Spectrum be a leader in furthering efforts of broadband availability and adoption in the Pee Dee Region,” added State Rep. Jackie Hayes. “By having discussions about digital equality, together, we’re building stronger communities.”
Building upon Spectrum’s long track record of expanding broadband access to unserved and underserved locations, Spectrum’s network offers 1 Gbps high-speed broadband access to all newly served customer locations, with starting speeds of 200 Mbps, enabling consumers to engage in remote learning, work, telemedicine and other applications that require high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity. These newly served customer locations also will benefit from Spectrum’s high-value pricing and packaging structure, including its Spectrum Mobile™, Spectrum TV® and Spectrum® Voice offerings. Spectrum will continue to apply its customer-friendly policies in newly served area, including no data caps, modem fees or annual contracts, combined with high-quality service provided by U.S.-based, insourced employees.
“The pandemic has highlighted the need for broadband availability and adoption across South Carolina,” said Tony Sieiro, Spectrum Area Vice President, Field Operations. “Spectrum is committed to furthering its efforts of bringing broadband access to more unserved areas to positively impact our local communities.”
