Ribbon Cutting Held For Waccamaw Dermatology

THE RIBBON CUTTING for Waccamaw Dermatology was held on Friday, August 13 at their new location at McLeod Dillon in the Professional Building, 705 North 8th Avenue, in Suite 3B (843-449-0453). Dr. Phil Wallace said he thought it was great that Waccamaw Dermatology decided to locate here and deliver services to the people of Dillon County and the surrounding area. He said a dermatologist is very much needed. He has known Dr. Bibb since 1981 when he they did their residency together. Dillon County Council Chairman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr., also a patient of Waccamaw Dermatology, said it was a blessing to the people of the county to now have access to these services. He said many more people will be able to get the services they need due to this location. Dillon County Public-Private Partnership Chairman Mike Tyler agreed and says this show how the county is growing. Herbert Jacobs of the Dillon County Chamber of Commerce Board said that with the new census numbers showing a decrease in population in this county, providing these types of services improves the quality of life for the people of this area and entices people to stay in this area. The staff explained the services available to help people with their skincare needs. The office is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Among those in attendance were Lake View Town Councilwoman Mitsey Church, Dillon County Public-Private Partnership Chairman Mike Tyler, Dillon County Council Chairman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr., Dr. Brandon J. Coakley, Dr. Robert D. Bibb, Olivia Miller-Certified Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Phil Wallace-Dillon Mayor Pro-Tem, Glenn Greene-Former Chamber Board member, Herbert Jacobs-Current Chamber Board member, and Josephine Gilchrist.
