Paige Sherman Shuts Out Waccamaw
Paige Sherman shut-out the visiting Waccamaw Lady Warriors of Pawley’s Island 11-0 on a 1-hitter by Megan Dallas in the first inning of the varsity softball game played in Dillon on Thursday, March 25.
Dillon managed 6 runs in the bottom of the second inning with a hot grounder by Logan Grice for a single to start. Ny Wilson hit one to deep center and ended up on third with a rbi. Lexie Rogers hit a grounder to third and was safe at first. Chesney Caddell hit a chopper to the shortstop and was safe at first. However, Rogers was thrown out attempting to go to third base. Jenascia dropped one at home and arrived safely at first. Cierra Grice hit a hot one up the middle for a single and a rbi. Paige Sherman hit a grounder to second and picked up a rbi but was out at first. Abby Bristow hit one to left and ended up on third. Qy Wilson garnered a walk. Logan Grice hit a grounder to the shortstop who committed an error; a run scored.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Abby Bristow lined one up the middle for a single. Bristow stole second base. Qy Wilson hit a chopper to the shortstop who committed an error. Wilson arrived at first and a run scored. Chloe Dove hit a grounder to second. Lexie Rogers hit one to left and a run scored. Shakinah Murphy hit one to second, and a run scored. Mariah Campbell hit one to right and 2 runs scored. Cierra Grice hit a hot grounder by third for a single.
Waccamaw committed 3 errors while Dillon did not commit an error in the game.
Paige Sherman picked up the win for Dillon. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 1 hit, no runs, and no walks.
Kyndra Patterson was tagged with the loss. She pitched 4 innings and allowed 11 runs, 12 hits, and walked 1.
Dillon’s Cierra Grice had 3 singles and a rbi in 4 at-bats while Abby Bristow had a triple, a single, and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Chesney Caddell had a double and a rbi in 2 at-bats. Waccamaw Warriors Get Win Over Wildcats
The Waccamaw Warriors from Pawley’s Island returned home on Friday, March 26, with a 12-1 win over the Dillon Wildcats in varsity baseball on Friday, March 26, in a game played in Dillon.
Waccamaw managed to get 2 runs in the top of the third inning and added 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Waccamaw had 12 hits in the game, and Dillon had 5 hits in the game.
Dillon’s lone run came in the bottom of the fourth inning on a hit by Jamison Pittman who was perfect at the plate with a hit and a Waccamaw’s Darden picked up the win. He pitched 3 and 2/3 innings and allowed 4 hits, 1 earned run, walked 2, and struck out 3.
Chandler Pittman was tagged with the loss. He pitched 4 innings and allowed 7 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 1, and struck out 1. The Dillon Wildcats will travel to Aynor today (Tuesday, March 30) for a double-header to begin at 5:30 p.m. Support your team.

Lady Gators Defeat Lady Trojans
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators defeated the Green Sea Floyds Lady Trojans 14-3 in the 10-rule, 5-inning varsity softball game played at Green Sea on Friday, March 26.
The Lady Trojans held the Lady Gators to no runs in the top of the first inning while placing 3 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. However, the Lady Wild Gators offense sparked in the top of the second inning, and Lake View scored 4 runs to take a 4-3 lead.
The Lady Trojans could not muster any offense in the bottom of the second inning.
Lake View’s bats were hot in the top of the third inning while scoring 4 runs to take an 8-3 lead.
Lake View added 6 runs in the top of the fifth inning to lead 14-3.
The Lady Trojans did not score in the bottom of the fifth.
Lake View managed 14 hits in the game led by Hollie Scott who was perfect at the plate with a home run, a single, and 2 rbi in 2 at-bats while Raven Locklear connected for a double, a single, and 2 rbi in her 3 at-bats.
Zandasia Miller had 2 hits and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Baylee Miller was also perfect at the plate with 2 hits in 2 at-bats.
Raven Locklear picked up the win. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 5.
Lake View will host Timmonsville in a double-header today (Tuesday, March 30) beginning at 5:00 p.m. Support your team.

Lady Eagles Get Win Over Warriors
The Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles picked up an 11-0 win over the Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors in varsity softball action played in Dillon on Friday, March 26.
The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors will host Conway Christian today (Tuesday, March 30) at 4:00 p.m.

Latta Hosts Track Meet
At a home meet on March 30th, Latta Track hosted teams from Dillon, Marion and Kingstree.
The Latta girls won the event with 219 total points. Marion girls, with 72 points, finished just ahead of Dillon girls who scored 71 total points. Kingstree was unable to field a girls’ team for this meet.
The boys from Dillon took the meet with a score of 211 over Latta, who managed to claim 140 points for second. Kingstree and Marion boys finished with 27 and 26 points respectively.
The high score contributors for Latta were Aurora Freed (28pts) and Kristina McCormick (26pts) on the girls’ side and Phillip Davis (26) and Ty’drek Deberry & Micheal Hunt (18 pts each) for the boys.

Latta Lady JV Softball Gets Shut-Out Win
The Latta Lady Vikings junior varsity softball team shut-out the visiting Marlboro Lady Bulldogs junior varsity softball team 12-0 in a 10-rule, 3-inning game played in Latta on Monday, March 29.
Marlboro was held scoreless in the top of the first inning, but Latta placed 7 runs onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning.
Latta again scored 5 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 12-0 lead.
Marlboro was held scoreless in the top of the third inning.
Marlboro committed 4 errors in the game while Latta committed 2 errors in the game.
K. Johnson picked up the win for Latta.
She pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 hits and walked no one.
A. English was tagged with the loss for Marlboro. She pitched 2 innings and allowed 9 hits and walked 2.
J. Brown and K. Quick each singled in the game for Marlboro.
Latta’s M. Berry connected for 2 home runs and 3 rbi in 2 at-bats while E. Roberts had a home run, a triple, and 3 rbi. L. Nettles had a triple, a single, and a rbi. K. Johnson was perfect at the plate with a single in her1 at-bat. R. Marsh and H. McIntyre each had a single in 2 at-bats. M. Lockamy garnered a rbi.

Turkey Season Opens
With the opening of Private Lands in Game Zones 1 & 2 and WMA lands statewide; April 1 means turkey hunters across the Palmetto State will be in the woods and fields chasing gobblers.
Game Zones 1 & 2 hunters are reminded that only one gobbler may be harvested the first 10 days of the season, and the tag used for that 10-day period is the Purple Tag (the 2nd one on your tag form). Game Zones 3 & 4 hunters have a one bird per day bag limit for the remainder of their season.
Don’t forget to report your harvest with SC Game Check! Over 2,000 turkeys harvested on private lands in Game Zones 3 & 4 have been reported as March 30, and the majority of those reports have come through the mobile app.

Lady Gators Defeat Whirlwinds
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators easily defeated the visiting Timmonsville Lady Whirlwinds in a double-header played in Lake View on Tuesday, March 30, as did the Lake View Wild Gators. Lake View baseball and softball teams will travel to Lamar on Friday, April 2, for 6:00 p.m. games.

Lady Cats Fall To Blue Jackets
The Dillon Lady Wildcats suffered a 3-2 loss to the Aynor Lady Blue Jackets in varsity softball action played in Aynor on Tuesday, March 30.
The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when Dillon scored a run to take a 1-0 lead.
Aynor responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with 3 runs to take a 3-1 lead.
Dillon managed to cut the lead to 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning but that was not enough as Dillon dropped the low-scoring contest.
Dillon managed 4 hits in the game to 2 hits for Aynor.
Logan Grice led Dillon with 2 singles in her 4 at-bats while Qy Wilson managed a single and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Paige Sherman also singled in her 3 at-bats.
Aynor’s Goff managed a single in her 2 at-bats while Ellis also singled in her 3 at-bats.
Paige Sherman was tagged with the loss. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 hits, 3 runs, struck out 3, and walked 1. Ellis picked up the win for Aynor. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, 4 hits, and struck out 8.
Dillon committed 3 errors in the game while Aynor committed only one error.
The Dillon girls will once again be on the road when they travel to Georgetown on Tuesday, April 13, for a 6:30 p.m. game. Support your team.

Lady Vikings Sail To Win Over Bulldogs
The Latta Lady Vikings sailed to a 12-2 win over the visiting Marlboro Lady Bulldogs in varsity softball on Monday, March 29, in a game played in Latta.
The Latta Lady Vikings placed a runner on first base on a third-strike dropped softball. Latta managed to score a run in the bottom of the first inning and added 4 runs in the bottom of the second. Two runs were added in the bottom of the third.
The Lady Bulldogs fought back and placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the forth inning. However, the Lady Vikings responded with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning to claim a 9-2 lead.
Latta added 3 more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to close out the game with a 12-2 win in the 10-rule, 5-inning game.
Marlboro’s Bailey Britt took the loss. She pitched 4 and 1/3 innings and gave up 11 hits, walked 4, struck out 1, and allowed 12 runs.
Latta’s Jayla Jackson picked up the win. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 hits, 2 runs, struck out 10, and walked no one.
The Latta Lady Vikings’ Abigail Cooper had a double, a single, and 3 rbi in 4 at-bats while Jena Stutler had a home run, a double, and 2 rbi in 2 at-bats. Elizabeth brown had 2 singles and 2 rbi in 3 at-bats. Ragan Bethea had 2 singles and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Jayla Jackson had a single and a rbi in 4 at-bats. Averi Lovell and Maddie Berry each had a single in the game.
Marlboro County’s Mackenzie Kubas had a single and a rbi in 2 at-bats, and Abby Quick had a triple in 2 at-bats.
The Latta Lady Vikings varsity will travel to Marlboro County today, Thursday, April 1, for a 7:00 p.m. game while the junior varsity will have a game at 5:30 p.m.

Trojans Defeat Gators
The Green Sea Floyds Trojans defeated the visiting Lake View Wild Gators 6-3 in varsity baseball action played on Friday, March 26, at Green Sea.
The game was scoreless until the Trojans’ bats came alive in the bottom of the third inning and connected for 2 runs.
Lake View responded with 2 runs in the top of the fourth inning to temporarily knot the score at 2. This short-lived tie did not last long as Green Sea Floyds responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead.
Lake View once again tied the score at 3 with a run in the top of the fifth inning.
Lake View was held scoreless in the top of the sixth inning but Green Sea added 3 big runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lake View was unable to score in the top of the seventh inning.
Lake View committed 3 errors in the game, and Green Sea Floyds committed 2 errors in the game.
Dalton Stroud picked up the win for the Trojans.
He pitched 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 6.
Noah Carter was charged with the loss. He pitched 1 inning and allowed 5 hits, 3 earned runs, walked no one, and struck out 1.
Lake View’s Luke King had a double, a single, and 1 rbi in 3 at-bats while Noah Carter connected for 2 hits and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats. Braxton Dimmery was perfect at the plate with 3 hits in 3 at-bats. Marquise Johnson had a hit and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Michael McInnis had a hit in 3 at-bats.

DCS Falls To PDA
The Dillon Christian School Warriors suffered a 9-5 loss to the visiting Pee Dee Golden Eagles on Friday, March 26, in varsity baseball action played in Dillon.
The Warriors held the Golden Eagles scoreless in the top of the first inning and managed to score 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning. However, Pee Dee’s offense scored 5 runs in the top of the second inning to take a 5-2 lead. Pee Dee again added 3 runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 8-2 lead. The Golden Eagles placed another run on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning, and the Warriors responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Warriors also placed 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Dillon Christian School committed 3 errors in the game while Pee Dee committed 1 error.
Pee Dee’s Colby Sinclair had a hit and 3 rbi in his 4 at-bats while Lane Caldwell had a hit and 2 rbi in his 2 at-bats. Ryen Watson had 2 hits and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Colton Caulder had a double and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Gabe Estes had a hit in his 4 at-bats.
Dillon’s Jakob Gerald was perfect at the plate with a home run, a single, and 2 rbi in his 2 at-bats while Cooper Lane had 2 hits and 3 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Jacob Conner had 2 hits in his 4 at-bats, and Ethan Brewington had a hit in his 3 at-bats.
Cam Weston picked up the win for Pee Dee. He pitched 4 and 1/3 innings and allowed 5 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 1, and struck out 5.
Colby Thorndyke suffered the loss. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and allowed 2 hits, 5 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 2.
